They are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Director of Engineering to oversee project delivery, mentor engineering staff, and drive operational excellence across their portfolio. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep experience in site civil design, permitting, and client engagement, and is passionate about building high-performing teams and scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering team, including project managers, engineers, and designers.
- Oversee the execution of residential, commercial, and industrial land development projects from concept through construction.
- Ensure technical quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery across all projects.
- Develop and implement operational standards, QA / QC protocols, and training programs.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for grading, drainage, utility design, and entitlement processes.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, business development, and resource allocation.
- Support proposal development, contract negotiations, and project scoping.
- Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).Professional Engineer (PE) license required.10+ years of progressive experience in land development engineeringProven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.Strong understanding of Colorado land development codes, permitting, and entitlement processes.Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant design software.
