Travel Nurse Job Details

Location : Austin, TX 78705 (Texas healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : October 13, 2025

End Date : January 12, 2026

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit : Neuro-focused PCU (8 beds); may float to med-surg units

Patient Ratio : 4 : 1 in PCU; 5-6 : 1 in med-surg

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Dress Code : Navy blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Texas or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience

ACLS certification required

NIH Stroke Scale certification (or willingness to obtain)

Proficiency in IV medication drips and cardiac monitoring

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to float to med-surg units as needed

Nursing Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to neuro-focused PCU patients

Monitor and manage patients with IV drips and cardiac monitoring

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal outcomes

Float to med-surg units within the hospital as needed

Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR

Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced clinical setting

Uphold unit policies and contribute to a positive healthcare team culture
