Overview
Our client is a rapidly growing healthcare organization that is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead their data engineering team in designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data solutions. This role is 50% management and 50% hands-on data engineering. You will help lead the day-to-day operations of a team of engineers with varying skill sets and responsibilities, and be willing to find creative solutions to complex problems. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong technical expertise with cloud data warehousing technology, excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Help to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Implement and manage data integration solutions across multiple systems and platforms.
- Oversee data quality across data pipelines, environments, and integrations.
- Ability to analyze business processes to understand the impact on data modeling and quality.
- Ensure data security and compliance with industry regulations.
- Lead team to analyze complex problems within the organization and devise and implement a scalable solution to these problems.
- Lead and manage daily team tasks to ensure that we are working on the right problems at the right time and providing continuous incremental value to the organization.
- Guide team to ensure we are building scalable, efficient solutions to organizational problems.
- Ensure that documentation and standards are followed to promote good quality and governance over the assets the team manages.
- Partner with and communicate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, document these requirements, and make necessary changes.
Requirements
5+ years of experience with cloud data warehousing technologies like Databricks, Data Factory, etc.Strong scripting experience (Python, Scala, or similar).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience with data modeling and database design principles.Excellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work with business stakeholders and gather business requirementsExperience keeping a diverse, remote team on track to meet organizational goals.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Nice to Have
Familiarity with DevOps, CI / CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.Familiarity with job scheduling tools.Knowledge of modern data warehouse structures are a plus.Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.Seniority level
