Medical Assistant (MA)

Hourly Pay Range : $19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Hours : Hours will be scheduled / rotated Monday through Thursday between 7 : 30 am and 5 : 30 pm, Friday 6 : 30 am 3 : 30 pm and 1 Saturday a month

Position Overview :

We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant for our Medical Group Gynecology and Gynecological Pain & Minimally Invasive Surgery located at Skokie ACC in Skokie, IL. This is a full-time position (40 hrs / wk) and is benefits eligible. Hours will be scheduled / rotated Monday through Thursday between 7 : 30 am and 5 : 30 pm, Friday 6 : 30 am 3 : 30 pm and 1 Saturday a month. This position will travel to our Chicago Lakeview office or other locations for vacation, vacancies and / or medical leave coverage. This position will also be trained to cross cover Urogynecology.

What you will do :

  • Greet patients and escort them to exam room
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required
  • Provide clinical care under the direction of the office Physicians and Practice Manager
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications, reason for office visit and take medical histories
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures like Colposcopy, LEEPS, Hysteroscopy
  • Collect / prepare specimens
  • Sterilize and High Level Disinfection instruments and scopes
  • Phone triage, test results, prior authorizations and in-basket management
  • Back-up coverage for Patient Support Associates
  • Perform other functions as delegated
  • What you will need :

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
  • Certification : CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience : One year of work experience required, 1 2 years Women's Health MA experience a plus
  • On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
