Position Overview :
This role is responsible for supporting organizational outreach efforts and helping increase awareness of our mission and services through hands-on participation in events and community-driven activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Attend and represent the organization at community events, school visits, educational fairs, and youth programs as scheduled by the Community Outreach Manager
- Assist with all aspects of events including setup and breakdown, preparing materials needed, signage, and post-event tasks
- Support youth education and seasonal camps, to engage children and ensure smooth activities
- Tour new partners, visitors, and community groups, introducing them to our programs, facilities, and mission
- Maintain a welcoming and informative presence during public interactions, representative of the organization’s values
- Program supply inventory control
- Help implement community engagement initiatives
- Demonstrate and uphold the standards outlined in the HHS Employee Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform other duties as reasonably required or assigned

Pitching new outreach opportunities to attend for future eventsGrants to benefit the organizationPerformance Measures
Attend events throughout the year supporting HHS and assist with campaigns that help raise donationsConsistently prepares for and supports weekly outreach and educational activities. Timely communication to ensure smooth execution of Saturday events and education programs.Maintain regular communication with the Community Outreach ManagerProvide event updates and results to ensure strategic alignment and transparency.Supervision Received :
Work under the general direction of the Community Outreach Manager. Work independently to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
Qualifications & Skills :
Tuesday through Saturday work weekBilingual is a plusExperience in community outreach, education and animal welfare or similar roles, preferably within a nonprofit settingKnowledge of animal welfare issues, and highly motivated toward promoting animal welfare and protectionExcellent attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA team playerWorks comfortably with all domestic, wildlife, and livestock animalsDependableProblem solvingBending, lifting (up to 30 lbs.), walking, and standing for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.A valid Texas Driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record
