988 Lifeline Counselors

Overview

Family Services is seeking full-time 988 Lifeline Counselors to provide high quality, comprehensive crisis counseling services over the phone for consumers experiencing thoughts of suicide, along with support and assistance for Wisconsin residents experiencing emotional distress. This role is available in-person at our Brown County location or remote (remote candidates must reside in Wisconsin). The position operates on a 2-2-3 rotation with every other three-day weekend off, and includes a night shift with shift differential on 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts. 988 Lifeline services are available 24 / 7 / 365, including holidays; candidates are expected to maintain reliable attendance for weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between the consumer and other service organizations, providing and receiving referrals.
• Provide 24-hour crisis intervention services by telephone.
• Assess consumer mental health status and coordinate emergency services.
• Provide in-depth professional evaluations and assessments.
