About the Role

As a teacher at Uncommon Schools, you will play a vital role in implementing our curriculum and ensuring the success of our students. Your Responsibilities

  • Implement engaging curricula and activities that meet our high academic standards.
  • Analyze assessments to measure student progress and use this data to tailor your instructional practices.
  • Focus on student learning, thinking critically to address their needs.
  • Create a positive, structured learning environment that upholds our core values and expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commit to your professional growth by participating in our annual three-week staff orientation and ongoing training.
  • Engage in grade-level activities and school-wide functions throughout the year.

  • While a background in education is not required for new teachers, a passion for working with K-12 students and experience in urban communities is preferred.
  • Additional Qualifications for Experienced Teachers

  • A proven track record of high achievement in the classroom.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in an urban public or charter school setting is preferred.
  • Valid State Certification and a Master’s degree are beneficial but not required.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher by the time employment begins.

    Compensation

    The salary for this role ranges from $56,000 to $80,000 . Starting pay is determined by various factors, including relevant teaching experience and education certifications. Candidates without full-time teaching experience will likely start at $56,000.
