Job Description
Responsible for delivery and pickup of goods, including boxing-up finished goods and safely loading / unloading truck, filling out driver log reports, and housekeeping. Be a positive representative of the company while driving to the customer, while at customer and from the customer. Many times you are the face they associate with the company. There may be overnight travel.
Major Duties :
- Successfully participate in random drug testing according to DOT requirements.
- Operate company trucks in compliance with all applicable state and DOT regulations.
- Handling customer pick-up and deliveries as scheduled.
- Locating and loading trucks utilizing overhead cranes and various materials handling equipment.
- Inspect shipping containers condition and repair as needed.
- Read, follow, and find destinations using a map.
- Preparing the individual shipments for delivery including inspection of shipping containers, wrapping rolls and / or parts in appropriate protective wrap, roll labels, shipping address labels and other shipping paper work as required.
- Driver routes may require overnight stays.
- Adhere and enforce all company policies for safety and operations.
- Perform daily safety checks on all vehicles and record findings as required.
- Move rollers between departments.
- Housekeeping of all delivery vehicles, finished roll area, loading dock area and shipping office.
- Assist in unloading customer trucks.
- Complete required receiving paperwork.
- Identify rolls / containers on shop floor.
- Communicate with receiving department related to shipment received.
- Assist in other shop areas as utility person when needed.
- Ability to work overtime / weekends.
- Maintain a clean work environment, floors swept, supplies properly stored, equipment cleaned and well maintained.
- Ensure shipping documentation is signed by customer representative and returned to plant facility.
Qualifications :
Language SkillsRead, write, and understand English.
Read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical documents.Write legible documentation conforming to prescribed style and format.Communicates effectively.Mathematical SkillsUtilize all inspection and measurement equipment per procedure and instruction, including Durometer gauges, Micrometers, Vernier diameter tapes, Dial indicators, Profilometers, temperature-indicating devices, and others as needed.
Understands / applies basic math, including accurate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Other SkillsLearn and utilize safe operating procedures.
Strong reasoning ability.Licenses :
Active CDL License, in good standing.Must be trained for Overhead Cranes and Forklifts.Physical Demands :
Stand, bend, and stooping for extended periods of time.Reaches by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force, and / or up to 25 pounds of force frequently.Required ability to use finger and hand dexterity to manipulate objects and lift 50 pounds.Vision ability within normal parameters.Hearing within normal range.Coordination to step over and maneuver around obstacles.Demonstrates safe operating habits.#IND
