TEACHER AIDE MSD (Clerical Aide)

Main Purpose of Job

Provideadministrative support to the Principal of the Middle School department and theDirector of Student Life.

POSITION DUTIES

Managethe office of the Middle School department in the daily operations of theprogram as well as support the Student Life addition tosupporting the Middle School Principal and Director of Student Life thisposition serves students families teachers staff and visitors. Dutiesinclude developing proofreading and distributing correspondence memosforms and reports for both classroom and dormitory staff answering departmentphone calls assisting with lunch duty developing or securing materials forclassrooms tracking and sharing daily afterschool program student attendancedeveloping and maintaining medical assistance billing for all departments andserving as a medical assistance provider for several students. This positionalso supports the Student Life department by sending confirmation letters ofdorm placements to families updating RCYCP staff records and maintainingfiles for the Department of Human Services. This position will collaborateclosely with the Campus Chief Educational Programs Officers office and withother programs in the school. May include communication with outside state andlocal agencies. May be asked to assume other duties as assigned by the MiddleSchool Principal Director of Student Life or the Campus Chief EducationalPrograms Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education : High Schooldiploma or equivalent (GED) required. Fluency in English and American SignLanguage required.

Experience : Four yearsperforming office secretarial type or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes :

1. Additional secretarial or clericalexperience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the requirededucation.

2. Thirty credit hours with a major insecretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may besubstituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up totwo years of the required experience.

Strong English writing skills. Fluency in American Sign Language required.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experiencein a school setting or clerical work preferred. Knowledge of Deaf Communitypreferred. Bachelors degree preferred.
