W2 with PTO : $50-$60.00 / hr.

C2C : $60-$67.00 / hr.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Internal Controls & Risk Assessment Specialist to enhance and protect organizational value by assessing internal controls, evaluating risk exposure, and optimizing governance processes. This role will drive enterprise-level internal controls and asset protection efforts, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and operational integrity across financial, operational, and security functions.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with audit, security, finance, risk, and technology partners to design and strengthen control environments, evaluate asset-related risks, support fraud prevention strategies, and prepare audit-ready documentation. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in COSO-aligned control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, precision-based testing, and enterprise systems support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead internal control assessments and risk evaluations to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and compliance risks
• Perform detailed testing of control effectiveness with precision and analytical rigor
• Design, enhance, and monitor internal control frameworks aligned with COSO and enterprise governance standards
• Partner with audit, security, and risk teams to align asset-related controls with broader risk management strategies
• Support fraud prevention initiatives and evaluate asset safeguarding controls
• Prepare audit-ready documentation, reporting, remediation plans, and executive-level insights
• Provide guidance on corrective action implementation and control remediation
• Leverage ERP systems and asset tracking technologies to validate process effectiveness and ensure accurate reporting
• Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while delivering high-quality, timely deliverables
