Job Description

The Staff Pad is looking for a Project Superintendent in the DFW Area, Texas. We have partnered with a construction company that specializes in commercial construction like retail, restaurants, offices and industrial sites. They take pride in delivering peace of mind to their clients as they are partners from beginning to end. The Project Superintendent will be the primary point of contact on the job site, leading all field activities, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring effective coordination between the project team, owners, design teams, and other stakeholders. A key aspect of this role is to maintain proper communication between all parties involved, ensuring that all project objectives are met and that any issues are quickly identified and resolved. In addition to overseeing day-to-day activities, you will be responsible for organizing and leading both onsite subcontractor and owner meetings, providing timely updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring the project stays on track. Effective communication and collaboration are critical for the success of the project, and the Project Superintendent must demonstrate exceptional leadership in driving a cohesive, cooperative environment on site.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the daily operations on-site, coordinating all field activities, including subcontractors, materials, and equipment, to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
  • Lead and manage all subcontractors to ensure their work is performed efficiently, safely, and according to contract specifications. Ensure that all trades maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to the project timeline. Adjust the schedule as needed in response to changes or unforeseen conditions while ensuring that work progresses on time.
  • Enforce construction safety protocols and ensure that all workers, subcontractors, and suppliers adhere to OSHA standards and the company’s safety policies. Ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure clear, open, and consistent communication between the project team, owners, the design team, subcontractors, and company leadership.
  • Foster a team oriented environment where all parties are aligned and working towards common project goals.
  • Schedule and conduct regular onsite meetings with subcontractors to review project status, address any concerns, and ensure alignment with the overall project timeline and quality standards.
  • Provide direction, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all trades are on track to meet project goals.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with project owners to provide updates on project progress, address any questions or concerns, and discuss potential changes in scope or schedule. Maintain strong relationships with owners by being responsive, transparent, and proactive in addressing their needs.
  • Ensure that all meeting outcomes, action items, and deadlines are clearly documented and shared with all relevant parties.
  • Follow up on action items to ensure accountability and timely resolution of issues.
  • Inspect all work to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards. Address any quality issues immediately and provide guidance to subcontractors to correct deficiencies
  • Perform regular onsite inspections, both scheduled and unscheduled, to ensure quality control and safety standards are maintained throughout the construction process.
  • Manage the flow of materials, equipment, and labor on-site to ensure that the project has the resources it needs to continue progressing smoothly.
  • Ensure that all materials arrive on time, are stored properly, and are used efficiently to avoid delays or cost overruns
  • Proactively manage and resolve any scheduling conflicts or delays, ensuring that all subcontractors are coordinated to prevent downtime or inefficiencies.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to track and manage project costs, ensuring that work is completed within the allocated budget. Report any potential cost overruns or savings.
  • Identify and communicate any changes to the project scope, ensuring that change orders are processed and that both the cost and schedule impacts are addressed and understood by all stakeholders.
  • Maintain a proactive safety culture on-site by conducting regular safety meetings, enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Identify potential risks to the project schedule, quality, or safety and take appropriate steps to mitigate these risks, minimizing delays or accidents.
  • Ensure that all necessary project documentation, including change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and approvals, is accurately recorded and readily available for future reference.
  • Communicate effectively with the Project Superintendent, design teams, and company leadership to address challenges and keep the project on track.
  • Lead the final stages of the project, ensuring that all work is completed to satisfaction, punch list items are addressed, and the project is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Work with the owner and design team to conduct a thorough final inspection of the site and resolve any outstanding issues before final project sign-of
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, including warranties, manuals, and as-built drawings, are prepared for the client at project closeout.

Qualifications :

  • Experience : 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a proven track record in managing ground-up projects and field operations.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certifications : OSHA 30-hour, First Aid / CPR, and other relevant certifications (preferred).
  • Skills :
