Tekberry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Project Manager to join our client, a world-renowned academic and research institution. This Project Manager will support the University IT (UIT) Project Management Office (PMO) and lead multiple complex, cross-functional IT initiatives impacting the broader community. Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery (80%)
Lead and manage large-scale, complex IT projects including discovery, vendor selection, system integrations, SaaS implementations, infrastructure upgrades, and enterprise technology initiatives.
Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans using PM best practices (scope, schedule, budget, resources, risk, communication, procurement).
Drive cross-functional alignment across UIT, business units, and executive stakeholders.
Facilitate project meetings, stand-ups, vendor discussions, and executive reporting.
Maintain project documentation, RAID logs, WBS, dashboards, and status reports.
Ensure project delivery meets quality expectations and aligns with Stanford's IT governance and PMO standards.
Technical Contributions (20%)
Support system integration planning, data flow mapping, and technical evaluation.
Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and security teams to ensure technical feasibility and risk mitigation.
Support testing, QA processes, technical assessments, and system cutover planning as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with functional leads, business owners, vendors, and technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and maintain project momentum.
Communicate effectively across diverse audiences, including executives, IT staff, faculty, and operational teams.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
8 10 years of experience managing large and complex IT projects with multi-stakeholder environments.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in project management disciplines (scope, schedule, budget, risk, communication, resource planning).
Experience managing multiple concurrent IT projects (infrastructure, SaaS, integrations, upgrades, vendor implementations).
Exceptional problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP Certification (strongly desired).
Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.
Experience with ServiceNow PPM, Smartsheet, MS Project, Visio, Zoom, Slack, and MS Office Suite.
Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle HCM, PeopleSoft (Student or HR).
Understanding of : IT infrastructure
Application architecture
Data integration
SDLC
Information security practices
Strong ability to manage vendors, negotiate timelines, and support change management.
Work Environment
Hybrid schedule; minimum 2 days onsite at Redwood City Campus.
May require occasional local travel between campuses and healthcare sites.
Office environment; extended desk / computer time expected.
