Job Description

KPFFs San Francisco office is looking for a Structural Design Engineer whos ready to dive into impactful, technically challenging projects. If you enjoy solving problems, collaborating with talented people, and continuing to grow in your profession, wed love to hear from you.

In this role, youll be involved in all aspects of structural design and project delivery. You'll work alongside experienced engineers while developing your own technical expertise.

What Youll Do

• Design with purpose : You will perform structural analysis and design for building systems, including framing, foundations, and connections, using industry-standard tools and methods.
• Own your work : You will prepare structural calculations and design documentation that align with building codes, project specifications, and client expectations.
• Collaborate in design development : You will work closely with senior engineers to develop creative and practical structural solutions across a variety of project types.
• Draw and detail : You will use AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software to create and refine structural drawings with accuracy and clarity.
• Get out in the field : You will visit project sites to assess conditions, verify construction progress, and confirm alignment with the intended design.
• Coordinate and communicate : You will partner with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure smooth integration of structural systems with other disciplines.
• Contribute to the team : You will mentor junior engineers and interns, offering guidance and supporting a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
• Prioritize quality : You will participate in internal quality control reviews and help ensure our work reflects KPFFs standards for accuracy, safety, and excellence.

Compensation

We offer a competitive base salary aligned with your skills, experience, and background. The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $110,000 for candidates with 4 to 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience . We also recognize individual and team success through performance-based bonuses at the Reporting Center level. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
