Fire Suppression System TechnicianJob descriptionPersonnel Safety Enterprises (PSE), one of the leading fire and safety companies in the Southwest, is now hiring a technician for our Fire Protection / Suppression Division. We are searching for a self-motivated, energetic, mechanically inclined and responsible individual with a strong work ethic. In addition, the candidate must have good communication skills, be team-oriented, and willing to learn. A clean driving record and willingness to travel throughout Northern Arizona are required. This will be a full-time position, Monday through Thursday, 7a - 5p, some overtime may be required.

- Job Responsibilities Include :
- Install, service and inspect of kitchen hoods, fire extinguishers and associated systems.
- Inspect, repair and test fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment and monitoring devices.
- Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguisher agents and expelling means; replaces work or damaged parts
- Clean extinguishers and recharge them with approved materials
- Tag fire extinguishing equipment to certify equipment has been properly inspected and is operational
- Inspect, test and repair systems such as smoke detectors, alarm systems, sprinklers and pull systems
- Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs to various suppression systems
- Monitor inventory and initiate requests for supplies, materials and equipment
- Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems
- Identify NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
- Maintain inspection and repair documentation on all work performed
- Assist in fire safety inspections
- Maintain service schedule
- Travel up to 50%
- Job Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Team-oriented with an ability to work independently
- Mechanical inclination
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work from ladders, work in confined spaces and work overhead
Please provide references and information on any certifications or skills you may have related to the following : fire extinguisher inspections / maintenance, A101, R102, sprinkler repairs, back flow certifications, low voltage certifications, card access and fire alarm panels. PSE will offer training for required certifications.
