Physician assistant takes the calls, and the surgeon is only contacted if there are urgent or emergent issues. Rounding 2-4 hours, depending on how many surgical patients were completed that week. Typically, round together with the PA that is on with them Average admissions on call : 1 - 3Typical Cases : Open Heart, Carotid, and possibly lung cases.
