Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of strong orthopedic outpatient experience for a primarily outpatient role with some acute care duties.

Responsibilities

  • Position is 90% outpatient with a strong orthopedic focus and 10% acute care including observation, inpatient, and swing bed responsibilities
  • Adult patient population with exposure to chronic pain and general medical conditions
  • Experience with vestibular, concussion management, and aquatic therapy is a plus but not required
  • Work at a critical access setting that is an Adult Level IV facility with 25 staffed beds
  • Standard schedule is five 8-hour day shifts, 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM
  • Rotating 4-hour Saturday shift (8 AM–12 PM) anticipated 1 or 2 times per assignment
  • No floating outside physical therapy scope of practice is required
  • Epic is used for charting and EMR
  • Free employee parking is available
  • Main responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients in both outpatient and acute care settings with a caseload focused on orthopedic and chronic pain
  • Team-oriented environment in a small, critical access hospital
  • Holiday coverage may be required as needed
  • Finalized RTO requests must be submitted prior to assignment; no RTO allowed during first week and no more than 7 days total per assignment
  • Must not have worked as permanent staff within the previous 9 months to be eligible
  • Scrubs of any color are permitted for all specialties
  • Medical or religious vaccine exemptions require documentation
  • Candidates must be able to complete in-person fingerprinting in MN prior to starting and are financially responsible for associated travel
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing to avoid cancellation
  • Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent physical therapy experience, primarily in outpatient with orthopedic focus
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Active MN state PT license required if applicable
  • Experience treating chronic pain and general medical conditions required
  • Previous travel assignment experience preferred
  • Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
