Qualifications : Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
2 years Experience in Orthopedics or related field (Required)
Required Skills / Knowledge
Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
Ability to utilize various office equipment.
Ability to communicate with patients and their families of divers cultural backgrounds.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Must be active member in the National Association of Orthopedic Technologist (N. A. O. T .) 180 Days . Must pass the N. B.
C. O. T . certification and / or maintain their National Board Certification 2 Yrs (Required)
Functional Accountabilities
Effectively performs technical duties
- Assist with the application and removal of basic and specialized bracing, plaster and fiberglass cast (i.e. pre-made functional bracing, cast bracing, spica cast, body cast, etc.) on the wards, in the clinic and in the O.R.
- Assist residents, nurses, and technologist with proper application techniques in casting, splinting and traction.
- Apply , modify and dismantle traction equipment.
- Complete rounds as required.
