Assistant Director, Accounting & Budget Development
Los Angeles County Office of Education is looking for qualified individuals seeking to combine management, accounting, and budgeting experience with a desire to make a difference in an educational environment.
The Assistant Director Accounting & Budget Development plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages the activities and functions of assigned staff involved in the operations of general accounting, budget and finance, payroll, accounts payable & receivable (AP / AR), grants project management, pupil attendance accounting, education programs fiscal support, and financial systems support services.

Required Education and Experience :
Education : A bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration or a field closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning accredited by the regional accreditation associations, as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience : Five years of experience in accounting, budget, and finance, including three years in a supervisory capacity.
Additional Requirements :
A valid California Driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. A valid California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and school district experience are desired. Hybrid remote schedules may be available.

Candidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a performance assessment and / or a technical interview.

Selection and promotion are based on a competitive examination process. Candidates who pass all exam parts are ranked according to overall exam score and placed on an eligibility (hiring) list. Vacant positions are filled from the top three ranks. Eligibility lasts for 12 months; however, additional recruitment may occur under a separate bulletin with additional candidates being merged onto the eligibility list.
