The Commercial Lines Account Executive is the strategic relationship leader responsible for end-to-end client satisfaction, retention, and portfolio growth.
AEs are the primary client-facing representatives, owning the coverage strategy, producer relationships, and accountability for outcomes. This is a leadership role (not managerial) the AE leads Account Managers, CSRs, and international support to deliver a seamless client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Leadership : Serve as the primary contact for clients, agency owners, and producers. Manage relationships with transparency, empathy, and business acumen.Coverage Expertise : Advise clients on coverage, endorsements, and risk strategies ensuring policy accuracy and compliance.Retention & Growth : Own overall book performance, ensuring 95%+ renewal and positive client feedback.Team Leadership : Lead the Account Manager and CSR within each book, as well as offshore support teams, ensuring priorities and deadlines are clear.Accountability : Be responsible for all retention and service metrics if a client leaves, the AE is accountable for the 'why.'Workflow Oversight : Direct the sequence of work delegate tasks appropriately to CSRs and AMs based on urgency and complexity.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with sales, carrier partners, and regional leads to resolve client issues or negotiate favorable outcomes.Process and Quality Assurance : Identify service gaps, monitor quality of output, and mentor AMs and CSRs toward consistency and precision.Experience & Skills
68+ years of commercial insurance experience with direct client-relationship ownership.Proven success in leading small servicing teams (onshore / offshore).Advanced understanding of commercial lines coverages, endorsements, and compliance.Strong familiarity with AMS systems and carrier portals.Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.Able to balance client management with high operational rigor.Experience servicing multi-state commercial accounts (NY, CA, TX priority).
