Overview
The Analyst Floor Planning must maintain a global understanding of the total store space productivity and be able to make fact-based recommendations on space reallocation to maintain the Dick's Corporate image and drive business strategies that support our key company objectives; the maximization of Sales / GM / Turnover / Customer Experience. Address and resolve space conflicts with informed analysis and recommendations. Provide insight into what is working, what is not working, regional and seasonal opportunities for business, for a specific region of the country.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Analytics
- Responsible for the development of store specific seasonal / quarterly overview floorplans in support of the company financial plans.
- Create ad-hoc analysis to react to current and future business trends and adjust overview plans as needed to optimize space productivity.
- Coordinate with space and floor planning teams to ensure that merchandise and space plans are complete and accurate for new stores, remodels, and prototypes. Create forecast model Heat Maps and provide space recommendations for potential new stores and remodels.
- Analyze performance metrics to ensure we are driving sales and improving store productivity while creating store specific DNA profiles. Must be able to identify and surface business risks and opportunities at a store, district and regional level, providing sound recommendations to proactively manage.
- Influence business partners by presenting sound analysis and impacts to the overall business.
- Support the Manager of Space Planning with ad hoc projects. Proficient in delivering accurate analysis, that is both actionable and presentable to all levels of management.
Process and Strategy Management
Complete each overview floorplan draw cycle in support of company business strategies, desired adjacencies and ideal space, for each store within a specific region.Understand the impact of space moves on brand shops and graphics through partnership with Retail Integration and In Store design teams.Review accuracy and productivity of overview plans prior to publication to ensure all plans are accurate and executable at store level in the most efficient manner.Collaborate with Category floor planners to provide fact-based recommendations on space reallocation to resolve conflicting requests between departments within each store, while maintaining key seasonal strike points, category visual presentation and preferred adjacencies.Monitor store feedback mailbox and conduct root cause analysis on feedback to proactively reduce the quantity and type of questions and drive productivity improvementsBe the subject matter expert on all systems and processes used within Space Management and share experiential knowledge with the members of the team. Participate in special projects, key initiatives, and system updates as requested by Manager of Space Management.Cross Functional Partnerships
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teams (Store planning, In store Signage, Store Operations, Space planning, Field Visual team). Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices and develop knowledge.Participate in cross functional team projects to facilitate change and improvement with processes, systems, people, etc. to help the organization grow.Participate in Regional and Store specific conference calls and meetings to identify store needs and opportunities. Develop action plan to resolve these needs and capitalize on opportunities.Build relationships with RVP, DMM, Stores and FVM in order to lead conversations regarding current performance, opportunities for improvements and positioning for future initiatives.Education Requirement
