Procurement Director
This position is located in the Procurement and Contractual Review Division of the Louisiana Department of Corrections. The mission of the Department is to promote public safety and strengthen communities through fair, professional, and responsive corrections services. This is a promotional opportunity for current LA Department of Corrections employees who have permanent status and are ready to advance in their career. This position serves as the Director of Procurement and Contracts for the Department. This section also has oversight of the Department's LaCarte Purchasing Program, Fleet / Property / Insurance Program, and FEMA reimbursements and grants.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Seven years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
- Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
- A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
- An advanced degree, or a Juris Doctorate, plus three years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization.
Experience Substitution : Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Directs the Department's Procurement Program.Administers and oversees the Department's contracts, grants, MOUs, and cooperative endeavor agreements.Services as the Department's liaison with the Office of State Procurement, State Travel, LA Property Assistance Agency, Office of Risk Management, etc.Position-Specific Details :
Appointment Type : Permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C - Corrections Services (Adult DOC).An employee selected for detail may be permanently promoted to this position if the position becomes available.Other Important Information :
