- The Open Data Administrator will be responsible for collecting organizing evaluating and publishing datasets as well as collaborating with internal departments to ensure data quality and upload compliance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the use understanding and value of data a strong understanding of data governance and experience with data management platforms and metadata Open Data Administrator will work as a member of the BIDI team within Data Services team and manage the daily administration and expansion of the Citys two Open Data Portals ArcGIS Online (AGOL) and Open GOV. This role will also augment internal analytics projects as needed. Key Responsibilities : Assist in project planning execution and monitoring to ensure the successful implementation of data the collection storage and maintenance of datasets suitable for publication in collaboration with data owners and legal / compliance teams towards expansion of the citys open data with external users (e.g. developers researchers civic tech groups) to understand data needs and metadata standards to ensure datasets are well-documented and and maintain standard operating procedures user guides FAQs and dataset documentation for public and internal workshops webinars and training sessions to improve data literacy and how to prepare and publish open documentation tutorials and use cases to help users understand and apply open and nurtures communities of data users including civic tech groups startups and academia. Qualifications : Education : Bachelors degree in information technology Data Science or a related field. Experience : Proven experience in data management preferably in an open data environment. Key Skills : Data Management : Proficiency in managing data including collection storage and maintenance. Experience with database management systems (e.g. Oracle).Data Quality Assurance : Ability to ensure data accuracy consistency and with data cleansing and validation techniques (preferably using Oracle tools).Data Security : Knowledge of data security protocols and best in implementing measures to protect sensitive Proficiency : Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Python R Excel).Familiarity with open data platforms and tools (e.g. OpenGov Socrata CKAN Esri AGOL)Experience working with GIS spatial Compliance : Ability to ensure compliance with relevant standards and and Collaboration : Strong communication skills to work effectively with various to collaborate with different departments to identify data -Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving to troubleshoot and resolve data-related : Skill in developing and maintaining technical and project documentationAbility to create clear and comprehensive and Support : Experience in providing training and support to staff on data-related to explain complex data concepts in an understandable Visualization : Familiarity with data visualization techniques and to present data in a clear and actionable SkillsBachelors degree in information technology Data Science or a related in data management preferably in an open data in data analysis tools (e.g. Python R Excel).Familiarity with open data platforms and tools (e.g. OpenGov Socrata CKAN Esri AGOL).
