Sleep Lab Medical Assistant / Clinic Service Representative

This is a new position that will work in our small sleep lab. In addition to our Polysomnography Tech, this role will work closely with the Sleep Medicine Physician and our pulmonology clinic.

A Medical Assistant (MA) / Clinic Service Representative (CSR) who excels in this role :

• Will provide home sleep tests and explain how to use equipment.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, and troubleshooting.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification / authorization as necessary.
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow-up.
