This position is for 3rd shift currently planned for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hours would be 6am to 6pm or 7am to 7pm.
The Opportunity
CACI is looking for a Production Assembly Technician who can serve as a skilled technical specialist to build, align and test high precision Electro-Optical and mechanical systems in support of production Space / Satellite programs and aid engineers in the development of test and alignment fixtures and tools. Must be available to train during 1st shift.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate subassemblies and perform integration of subassemblies with electrical, optical and mechanical components for production units
- Independently follow detailed, pre-approved work instructions and test procedures and record detailed test data in Travelers
- Support requests for parts, materials and equipment required for assembly and testing of subassemblies.
- Ensure that all tools, equipment, and consumables are within calibration and expiration dates.
- Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, testing results, and any modifications made.
- Create comprehensive documentation outlining assembly procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
- Inspect products, materials, or components to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
- Use various tools and techniques for inspection, such as calipers, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to provide feedback on design improvements and manufacturing processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Three years experience building and testing custom, complex high precision electro optical assemblies.Fiber optic splicing processes and equipment, including arc fusion splicers, cleavers, and re-coaters.Use of optical sources, power meters, and optical spectrum analyzers to test optical components.General understanding of how to follow detailed work instructions and record required information in Travelers for traceabilityRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience or Secondary / Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Work is typically performed in a Cleanroom environment (ISO Class 7) which requires proper safety precautions.Ability to use hands in a skillful, coordinated way to grasp and manipulate objects and demonstrate small, precise movements.Ability to follow detailed work instructions or test proceduresAbility to read and understand electrical schematics.Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle changing priorities.Willingness to learn new tasks / skills.Must be a U.S. Citizen.Desired
Familiarity or experience with schematic capture design tools.Experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.Hand soldering in compliance to J-STD-0001 space addendum.Pay Range
The proposed salary range for this position is $39,400 - $75,900.
