Senior Software Engineer, BigLake

Overview

Mid-level software engineer with experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in C++ or Java.
• 3 years of experience designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with data analytics metadata systems (e.g., HMS, cloud computing platform Glue, Iceberg Rest Catalog) or data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Trino, Flink, Beam).

You'll be instrumental in shaping the architecture and future of BigQuery's metadata management capabilities. This position is focused around improving Federation support for BigLake.
