A leading hospital in the Amarillo area is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for the Emergency Department to provide specialized pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Schedule :
10-hour night shiftsRotating weekendsKey Responsibilities :
Deliver prehensive pharmaceutical care to emergency department patients, ensuring optimal medication use.Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to develop and implement effective treatment plans.Assist with rapid assessment and management of critically ill patients, including trauma and resuscitation cases.Conduct medication reconciliation, review drug therapies, and provide evidence-based remendations.Prepare and dispense medications following hospital protocols and regulatory standards.Participate actively in emergency responses such as stroke alerts, cardiac arrests, and sepsis protocols.Educate patients and healthcare providers on medication usage, potential side effects, and safety considerations.Monitor for adverse drug reactions and medication errors, taking corrective actions as needed.Engage in quality improvement projects and emergency medicine pharmacy research.Precept pharmacy students and residents; supervise medication history pharmacy technicians.Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.Active pharmacist license in good standing with the relevant State Board of Pharmacy.Required certifications : BLS, ALS, and PALS within 90 days of hire.Preferred : pletion of PGY2 residency in emergency medicine or critical care, or PGY1 residency with relevant critical care / emergency experience, or equivalent clinical experience.Benefits :
