Position Description
Individuals in this position provide a variety of HIV related educational, screening, and referral services. Services are provided to clients of Tri-County and to other target populations as determined by administrative staff.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provides voluntary and confidential HIV pre-test and post-test counseling and partner elicitation utilizing the protocol for same established by the State of Florida.
- Draws blood for HIV antibody screening from clients utilizing established procedures for same or completes HIV Antibody screening with alternative approved methods.
- Establishes and Provides health education and HIV risk reduction education to client groups in Tri-County facilities and to others if so requested.
- Refers clients to community resources as appropriate.
- Demonstrates the use of hygiene materials (condoms, bleach, etc.) as appropriate and distributes HIV related written materials.
- Communicates with appropriate individuals at Tri-County and other treatment facilities regarding testing schedule and presentation plan.
- Acts as liaison between Tri-County and County Public Health Units in cases of HIV positive clients unable to be located.
- Orders supplies needed for counseling and testing, including but not limited to scan forms, medical and office supplies, and educational materials.
- Prepares and maintains computer data on KIS system, client records, technical reports, other forms, and written documentation as required by contract and regulatory standards with instruction from appropriate supervisory personnel.
- Develops and recommends Policy / Procedure relative to HIV Outreach services.
- Function in a lead coordination role to ensure all HIV services are being provided.
- Performs other project related duties as assigned.
Minimum Training and Experience :
Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of full-time experience in a mental health, addictions treatment, or medical care setting. A bachelor's degree in human services may be substituted for the two (2) years of experience.Requires completion of HIV Counseling, Testing and Partner Elicitation course and of any other training courses that may be required by the State of Florida.Tri-County Human Services, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
