Reports To :

High School Principal & Vice Principal

Compensation Rate : $50-$55 / h

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or related field

Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Science (Grades 9–12)

Knowledge of lab safety protocols and scientific inquiry methods

Familiarity with NJSLS Science Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Experience in high school science instruction preferred

Job Summary :

The Science Teacher will create engaging, hands-on learning experiences in Science Education, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities Include :

Plan and deliver science lessons aligned with NGSS and district curriculum

Design and supervise safe, engaging laboratory experiments

Differentiate instruction for diverse learners

Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction

Integrate technology and real-world applications into science learning

Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation

• A. or B.S. degree in appropriate field of study from an accredited institution
• appropriate New Jersey Teacher Certification, or Provisional Teacher Certification in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6 : 11-3-1
• minimum two years classroom experience in elementary, middle school, or high school environment preferred
• interest and / or experience in making the mission
• skill in teamwork and collaboration
• proficiency in or desire to adapt to interdisciplinary teaching
• strong critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
• a desire for personal growth, development and lifelong learning
• belief that all children can learn and achieve high standards

Teachers’ responsibilities will be :
