PCB Design Engineer

Title : PCB Design Engineer Location : Onsite in Northridge, CA

Pay Scale : $70.00 / hr - $80.00 / hr

Duration : Long-Term / Ongoing Contract (yearly extensions and FTE conversion possible)

Work Requirements : US Citizen

About the Role :

We are seeking a PCB Design Engineer who can take full ownership of printed circuit board designs - from stackup through layout - with minimal input from electrical engineers. This is not just a tool-based layout role; we are looking for someone who combines strong PCB design skills with solid electrical engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities :

• Own end-to-end PCB design, including stackup definition, materials, and copper allocation.
• Design with proper signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability in mind.
• Calculate and apply correct trace impedance for both single-ended and differential signals.
• Select and implement appropriate via types (standard, blind / buried, microvias) based on design needs.
• Apply backdrilling techniques where needed to improve high-speed signal performance.
• Ensure minimum copper area and trace widths meet current-carrying requirements.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure functional and reliable designs.
• Deliver production-ready PCB layouts and documentation.
