Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Manassas, VA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience with machine design, equipment installation, and material handling
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
Design and optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handlingDesign arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layoutDesign sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, and other functions that affect product performanceAdapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditionsIncorporate inspection and test requirements into the production planInspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product qualityDevelop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniquesProvide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniquesEnsure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, and implement robotic automation solutions as neededProgram and integrate industrial robots (such as Fanuc and Epson) with existing manufacturing systems, utilizing PLC programming expertiseOptimize and maintain automated production lines to ensure maximum uptime and throughput, while maintaining high-quality standardsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
Experience with robotics and automation, including programming and integration of industrial robotsPLC programming expertiseKnowledge of statistical process control and lean manufacturing principlesCertification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, orStatistical Process Control (SPC)REQUIRED EDUCATION :
