The Village of Lombard is accepting resumes for the position of Civil Engineer I in the Public Works Department. This role involves a variety of municipal engineering functions, including overseeing maintenance and capital improvement programs for roadways, traffic signals, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The Civil Engineer reviews development projects and permits, addresses inquiries from businesses and residents related to transportation and engineering, leads multi-disciplinary project teams, and coordinates with other city departments and agencies on local and regional projects. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include :

• Conducting transportation studies across various modes, including roadway networks, traffic signals, neighborhood traffic, transit, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
• Managing maintenance and capital improvement projects from conception through completion, including budgeting, coordination with engineers and staff, design, review, permitting, construction, inspection, and close-out.
• Interacting with residents, property owners, and businesses to address transportation and engineering concerns.
• Supporting City boards and commissions.

Qualifications :

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of project management, proficiency with computer applications, report writing experience, and experience engaging with the public and stakeholders.

The salary range is $77,506 to $108,508, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
