Lead Production in a High-Precision Metal Stamping Environment
Step into a hands-on leadership role guiding a multi-shift manufacturing team that cuts, forms, stamps, welds, and assembles products to meet customer demand. You’ll orchestrate material replenishment, keep finished goods moving into inventory, and ensure people, processes, and priorities align to deliver safe, high-quality results.
A day in the role
- Direct and coach production teams across all shifts—set priorities at the start of the day, monitor throughput and quality, and adjust resources to hit targets.
- Maintain a safe, orderly floor that achieves high productivity without compromising quality or safety.
- Enter daily employee paperwork (labor, scrap, SPC) into the labor reporting system with accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee material replenishment so work centers stay supplied; ensure finished goods are moved into inventory promptly.
- Report production activity and results to management; communicate issues, risks, and improvements.
- Reinforce company initiatives by upholding organizational standards and policies.
- Analyze operating practices, record-keeping, and controls to help create and sustain robust processes and procedures.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing tools (e.g., 5S, visual management, root-cause problem solving) to drive productivity and continuous improvement.
- Respond quickly to requests from other departments and collaborate to meet shared goals.
Physical requirements (as needed when covering the floor)
Lift items up to 40 lbs.Bend or stoop during certain tasks.Walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.Stand and / or walk 8+ hours per shift.Climb step stools or small ladders.What you bring
High school diploma (required).Supervisory background or 2–5 years of equivalent experience.2–3 years leading teams to meet daily production / assembly goals.2–3 years maintaining quality in a production environment.2–3 years in stamping manufacturing.Experience partnering with cross-functional teams and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.Skills to succeed
Team leadership, goal-setting, and problem solving; lead by example.Understanding of workflow methodologies and the ability to organize daily work and drive accountability.Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor.Track results and report progress in clear shift summaries.Uphold quality by enforcing organizational standards and best practices.Strong cross-functional communication skills.Training in material handling equipment and a solid work ethic.Important notice
