Key Job Details – PACU RN Travel Assignment

Location : Hilo, Hawaii (96720) – Hawaii nursing jobs

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing

Unit : Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Duration : 26 weeks (Start : 12 / 7 / 2025 – End : 6 / 7 / 2026)

Hours per Week : 36

Shift : Variable shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours; Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends / Holidays; rotating between ASU and PACU)

On Call : 0-3 times per month (8-hour night and 24-hour weekend / holiday shifts)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680–$1800

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as a critical care RN (ER or ICU experience may substitute for PACU experience)

Active RN license in the state of Hawaii (or ability to obtain prior to start)

BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association

PALS certification recommended; may be required for specific positions

Additional specialty certifications preferred (NIHSS, TNCC)

Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical / religious exception required prior to contract start

PACU RN Responsibilities

Deliver patient care pre-operatively and during Phase I and II recovery in the PACU

Monitor and assess patients post-surgery, including incision sites, body temperature, and signs of stability or complications

Apply advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and critical care nursing

Operate clinical equipment : Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP and Phillips Monitors

Utilize critical thinking skills to respond quickly to changes in patient condition

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
