Job descriptionRole : Anesthesia support for Inpatient / Outpatient surgical and GI procedures. Practice Demographics : Reports to department leadership Work Schedule : 0700 – 1530, Monday to Friday, with call as detailed below. Call Coverage : Home call approximately 4-6 weeknights per month, 1 weekend home call approximately every 1.5 months. Clinical and Academic Opportunities : Strong emphasis on clinical practice with the potential for involvement in research and academic activities. Teaching or Research Opportunities : Opportunities exist to participate in clinical research and academic activities. Specialized Equipment and Cases : Includes General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Plastics, ECT, GI, and TEE / Cardioversion. Residency Training must have been completed, approved by the secretary of Veteran Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. S. Citizenship : non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Minimum of 5 years of experience Regional anesthesia experience Have a full, unrestricted medical license in any State. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Board Certified / Eligible Pay : Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off : 50 55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). Retirement : Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance : Federal health / vision / dental / term life / long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure : 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME : Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification). Malpractice : Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract : No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. Incentives Offered : Educational Debt Reduction Program (EDRP)
