WE'RE HIRING!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join the team in San Diego. This person will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for environmental remediation and demolition projects. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of asbestos abatement, selective demolition, and environmental regulations, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Review project specifications, drawings, and environmental reports to develop accurate cost estimates for asbestos abatement and demolition projects.
Perform takeoffs and quantify materials, labor, and equipment needs.
Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages for commercial and residential clients.
Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure alignment with project scope.
Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and identify potential cost impacts.
Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with execution plans.
Track bid performance, maintain pricing databases, and identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA, AQMD, etc.).
Qualifications :
3+ years of estimating experience in environmental construction, abatement, or demolition.
Strong understanding of asbestos abatement procedures, hazardous material handling, and demolition scopes.
Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of local building codes and environmental regulations in California.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
