Lead Engineer

Our client is looking for a lead engineer to participate in the design and detail engineering efforts to support the construction of aluminum and steel vessels. This company is creating new sea vessels - small and medium sized - for various government customers. Conversion salary expectations are between $110,000-140,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

The primary role of Lead Engineer is to lead the design and detail engineering efforts to support the construction of high-speed aluminum vessels. Our client is responsible for building and creating new sea vessels both small and medium for a variety of government customers.

Day to day :

• Overseeing a variety of mechanical engineers for the design of the vessels
• Performing and reviewing 3D models
• Designing and reviewing all aspects of the vessels
• Ensure that federal regulations for engineering standards are met
• Mentoring staff, ensuring deadlines are met

Work in Ship Constructor and SolidWorks for models and designs

Design experience with Ship Constructor and / or SolidWorks

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with prototype, one-off or custom boatbuilding.
