POSITION SUMMARY

LBMC Employment Partners, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team in the Nashville metro area. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of remote work with in-office collaboration 1-2 days per week. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in payroll tax, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset to help ensure compliance and accuracy across our payroll systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES | RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing and directing incoming mail related to payroll tax matters
  • Tracking and reviewing tax notices to ensure timely responses
  • Resolving tax issues independently and escalating complex cases when needed
  • Communicating with tax agencies regarding notices, audits, and inquiries
  • Preparing and submitting payroll tax registrations with state agencies
  • Updating tax rates and other critical data in UKG and Mastertax
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll tax filings
  • Supporting onboarding of new clients into Mastertax
  • Generating and reviewing reports to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Preparing and analyzing data using Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Preference will be given to candidates who have the following :

  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 1-2 years of payroll tax experience
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with UKG Ready and Master Tax is preferred.
