Dental Hygienist

Overview

Location : Fort Sam Houston, TX

Hours of Performance : The performance hours of the MTF are as follows : In general, all Dental Clinics are open between the hours of 0600-1700, Monday-Friday. Routine Clinic hours may vary by location.

Regular dental services may be scheduled between 0600 hrs. (6 : 00 a.m.) and 2200 (10 : 00 p.m.) hrs. Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. Federal holidays. Depending on mission requirements, services may be required on weekends.

Pay : $39.81 / hr & Health & Wellness $4.93

• / hr worked (in lieu of benefits)

Qualifications

Degree / Education : All dental hygienists shall be a graduate of a dental hygiene program that qualifies them to obtain a state license. This training must include coursework on radiation physics, biology, health, safety / protection, X-ray films / digital radiography, image quality, and radiographic techniques that meets or exceeds 42 C.F.R. Part 75 (Credentialing of Radiologic Personnel) requirements.

Board Certification : All dental hygienists shall successfully pass the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) and possess an active, current, valid, and unrestricted license in at least one of the 50 states, and / or the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or territories of the United States.

Certification : Shall be certified in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) that is approved by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association and reads Healthcare Provider Course in the subjects listed prior to beginning performance at the Dental Health.

License : The license must remain active, current, valid, and unrestricted during the life of the contract. One year experience in the last two years prior to contract execution, as a dental hygienist.
