Overview
Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering Analyst to join our Orange office! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Design of electrical systems including solar, battery storage, electric vehicle charging and building electrical
- Participate on project teams in an active production role
- Participate in project meetings internally and externally with clients
- Preparation of project specifications
- Preparation of electrical construction cost estimates
- Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
- Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
- Perform quality work that promotes client retention
- Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including solar photovoltaic electrical site plans, equipment selection, photovoltaic module string sizing calculations, ampacity calculations and wire sizing
Qualifications
2+ years of design experience in electrical engineering specifically in any of the following : Solar PV design, Battery energy storage, or energy modelingBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months requiredUnderstanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes / standards, and energy codesProficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)Previous experience with solar production modeling is a plusPrevious experience with electrical solar photovoltaic design or battery storage is a plusPassion for renewablesBuilding Information Modeling (BIM - Autodesk Revit) experience is a plusElectrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design experienceSuperior verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to work independently or in a team environment effectivelyThe ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environmentBase Salary : $95,000 to $115,000Why Kimley-Horn?
