Join Our Team as a Dental Assistant!

We are excited to invite a passionate Dental Assistant to be part of our dedicated team. This position offers a flexible schedule, giving you the opportunity to work between 4 to 5 days a week from December through June.

About Us : We are a thriving nonprofit community health organization committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services. While the primary location is in Conowingo, some travel to Elkton may be required. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Role Overview : As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our dental providers and ensuring exceptional care for our patients. You will assist with various dental procedures, maintain a clean environment, and help educate patients on their oral health.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including exams, restorations, and extractions.
  • Prepare and sterilize dental tools and operatories before, during, and after procedures.
  • Take and process dental radiographs while adhering to state regulations.
  • Collect patient health histories and ensure accurate record-keeping during visits.
  • Support our hygienists and assist with patient flow to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Monitor and replenish dental supplies, ensuring readiness for procedures.
  • Educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Help maintain equipment and comply with cleanliness and infection control standards.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred completion of a Dental Assisting program.
  • Current state-specific Dental Assistant registration or certification preferred.
  • X-Ray certification is required.
  • Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of dental procedures and infection control.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Bilingual, specifically in English and Spanish, is desirable.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in dental software.
  • Work Environment : This role may be full-time, part-time, or PRN based on the needs of the organization. Expect a collaborative environment where you can thrive and grow your skills.

    Compensation : $21.50 - $26.00 per hour.
