The Ivy Street School is a small year-round private residential special education school committed to advancing equity and access for young people living with disabilities. We serve neurodiverse adolescents ages 13-22. We support the whole child through a student-first model that is driven by collaboration, a willingness to think big, and a commitment to knowing our students well.

The Position

The clinician role provides individual, group, and family therapy services at Ivy Street School, a therapeutic 766 Day and Residential School that serves students ages 13 to 22 with Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Neurological Disorders, Mental Illness, and Behavioral Health challenges. Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, the clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy to a caseload of 7 to 9 students, attends weekly clinical team meetings, and provides case management and case consultation / trainings to milieu staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical service delivery that upholds Ivy Street School’s values as well as meets standards outlined on students’ IEP and EEC treatment plans
  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy to a caseload of clinically complex students
  • Develops and leads weekly clinical groups with a focus on safe and healthy relationships
  • Conducts family collaboration on a frequent and as-needed basis
  • Maintains collateral contact with outside agencies and outpatient providers per case needs
  • Creates SMART IEP goals and participates in IEP meetings
  • Collaborates with team on behavior plans and engagement
  • Facilitates admissions and discharges in collaboration with the mini team
  • Completes risk assessments and creates safety plans as indicated
  • Attends classroom collaboration and monthly team meetings as scheduled
  • Completes documentation for treatment notes, treatment plans, team notes, Medicaid forms, etc.
  • Collaborates closely with families to develop treatment plans and provide psychoeducation
  • Participates in individual and group clinical supervision
  • Upholds integrity and is process-oriented within the clinical team and with all departments
  • Engages in continuous education as a clinical social worker and maintains license requirements

Leadership & Supervision

  • May provide orientation and in-service training on behalf of the clinical team
  • Holds a late-night shift once a week (until 6 : 30pm)
  • Provides case consultation and trainings to staff
  • Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, LCSW, LICSW or LMHC
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • Expertise in working with adolescents, young adults, and families
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in residential or similar settings preferred
  • CPI, CPR and First Aid certifications required (offered upon hire)
  • A background check, drug, and alcohol test will be performed prior to start
  • Job Type : Full time in school setting, fully in person

    Schedule : Monday – Friday 40 hours per week

    Location : Ivy Street School

    Pay Range : $68,000-$76,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications and internal equity
