Senior Combat Designer - Armature Game Studio

Armature, part of the Reality Labs organization at Meta, is seeking an experienced Combat Designer with expertise in combat and enemy design. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of systems design, Unreal Engine 5, blueprint scripting, technical problem solving, and VR-specific gameplay development. Collaboration with designers, engineers, and artists is essential to create immersive AAA VR combat experiences.

Responsibilities include working with the Creative Director to design combat systems, develop prototypes using UE5, collaborate on final gameplay implementation, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to project planning and milestone setting. Staying updated with Unreal technology and VR development techniques is also required.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Designer in a game studio

Experience in combat and enemy design on a shipped AAA title

Ability to collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality features

Proven problem-solving skills and innovative design solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with VR development

Knowledge of content development tools

Experience with AAA console and / or VR products

Experience setting milestone goals and team tasking
