Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-growing geospatial SaaS company building AI-driven solutions for infrastructure mapping and management. This is a full-time, in-office position based in the Greater Boston area. The ideal candidate is a strong Python engineer with full-stack experience who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working on software that interfaces with real-world systems.

Job Title : Software Engineer, Python

Location : Boston, MA (In-Office 5x per week, no flex)

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and backend services using Python and PostgreSQL
Collaborate with product and design teams to develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces
Own full-stack features from conception to deployment, contributing across backend and frontend codebases
Work with large geospatial datasets to support visualization, analysis, and reporting
Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
Partner with DevOps to ensure reliable, testable, and observable systems

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field

Strong proficiency in Python, with experience building production-level applications

Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)

Solid understanding of modern JavaScript / TypeScript and front-end frameworks (React, Next.js, etc.)

Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs

Knowledge of Git-based workflows and CI / CD pipelines

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a startup environment

Preferred Experience

Exposure to geospatial tools and technologies

Experience with serverless platforms such as Supabase or Firebase

Understanding of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)

Previous experience in early-stage or scaling tech companies
