Your day to day as a ADON or Nursing Manager

As a Nurse Manager at Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Director of Nursing in staff recruiting, training, and assisting, ensuring that our team operates at its highest potential. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all policy revisions and reviews, as well as compiling essential monthly logs and data for Performance Improvement (PI) meetings. You will lead the monthly education sessions and annual skills fairs for staff, ensuring they remain well-equipped to provide exceptional care.

In addition, you will assist the Director of Nursing with oversight of the outpatient facility once a month, prepare comprehensive materials for PI committee meetings, and manage weekly orientation classes for new hires. Staying current with Joint Commission updates will also be a priority for you, while being present on the floor during shifts when coverage is needed. Your role includes being on-call every other weekend alongside the DON, and acting as Director of Nursing in their absence, demonstrating your leadership and commitment to excellence in patient care.

To excel as a Nurse Manager at Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital, you must possess a robust skill set and relevant experience. A minimum of 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience is required to navigate the complexities of patient care effectively. Familiarity with compliance standards, staff education, and Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) is highly beneficial, as is expertise in staff scheduling to ensure operational efficiency. A master's degree is preferred, reflecting the advanced knowledge and leadership skills necessary for this role. Proficiency in relevant software tools is essential for compiling logs and data and for maintaining accurate training records.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and effectively training staff. Additionally, problem-solving abilities will help you address challenges that may arise in a fast-paced hospital environment, ultimately contributing to the overall success of our inpatient behavioral health services.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• Minimum of 2 years Inpatient Psych. experience is required. Experience in Compliance
• Staff Education
• QAPI
• and staff scheduling is a plus. Master's degree is preferred.
