Paducah, Kentucky VA Clinic is seeking a full-time Primary Care Physician

Contract Buy Out Program :   This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years). Duties include, but are not limited to :

• Diagnose, treat and manage a panel of patients.
• Provider comprehensive patient-centered primary medical care.
• Identify acute / non-acute, chronic health problems.
• Use principles of risk management to identify system issues which impact patient care.
• Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Adhere to clinical practice guidelines for patient chronic disease.
• Conduct appropriate preventative screens and diagnostic tests.
• Provider appropriate disposition of identified health care problems.
• Participate in Primary Care multidisciplinary activities.
• Inform Veterans to accomplish shared decision making in medical treatment / regimens.
• Demonstrate medical expertise in diagnosing and treating multi-symptomatic patients.
• Adhere to local policies, procedures and directives related to timeliness of documentation and encounters for verification of patient visits, findings, and medical recommendations in the electronic medical record.
• Use Computerized Patient Record System to review and update patient's electronic medical record.
• Maintain view alerts.
• Utilization of Telehealth services.
• Supervise mid-levels.

The Physician will report directly to the Chief of Primary Care Service.

Work Schedule :   Monday-Friday 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm. May include extended hours or an occasional Saturday based on patient needs. Due to the nature of the work, the Physicians may occasionally be required to stay later then 4 : 30pm, as required.

Pay :  Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off :  50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement :  Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure :  1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Contract :  No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
