Role Overview :
This role provides medical leadership and oversight at a plasma collection center, ensuring compliance with FDA, CLIA, and internal quality standards. The physician serves as or delegates key CLIA functions, supports staff training, and maintains high medical and operational standards within the center. Regular on-site presence is required to review medical activities, guide staff, and address donor suitability and safety.
Key Responsibilities :
Serve as primary physician for FDA reporting and center medical compliance under applicable regulations.
Perform or delegate CLIA roles and ensure CLIA / COLA training, proficiency testing, and documentation.
Provide medical oversight and training for Medical Staff Associates and other center staff.
Conduct periodic reviews of medical evaluations, meet with staff, and participate in quality assurance activities.
Advise on donor suitability, review incident reports and lab results, and oversee immunization programs where applicable.
Required Skills & Experience :
MD or DO with active state medical license.
Knowledge of FDA regulations, CLIA requirements, and cGMPs.
Experience overseeing clinical staff and training Medical Staff Associates.
Proficiency reviewing medical incidents, interpreting lab results, and managing donor safety.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with plasma center operations and hyper-immune / Anti-D programs.
Familiarity with infectious disease screening and donor counseling.
