We are actively hiring for the position of Bindery Department Manager for our site in Van Nuys, CA.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive with a high level of organization
- Project management skills
- Excellent understanding of lean manufacturing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other project management software
- Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment
- Bilingual English / Spanish a plus
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Overseeing manufacturing and production processesPlanning, directing and running optimum day-to-day department operations to ensure on-time commitments to our customersWorks closely with the leads and assistant managers in gathering information and tracking progress against approved milestonesWorks with the leads / assistant managers and production team to develop and track against a production plan reflective of the defined project goalsIncreasing production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standardsAdvancement of the operators to higher skill levelsProvides motivation, support and guidance to all employees.Address employee issues or grievances to ensure continued productionAnticipates bottlenecks, clarifies project priorities, identifies risks, and escalates issues that cannot be internally resolvedWork with other departments to ensure on-time production throughout the facility and informs CS Ops of any issues affecting committed deliveriesClearly defines all workflows, communicates documented processes, and ensures all practices are being refined and tuned with learningsProvides regular status reports and capacity plan updates with the teamIdentifies processes that can improve project efficiency and act as a change agent for themEnsures internal department workflow and tracking documents up to dateImplementing / holding employees accountable for all the company’s procedures and policiesImplementing safety, health, environment and quality requirementsPerform other duties as assignedWhat are the perks and benefits of working at Digital Room?
