A Brief Overview
Provide a warm, safe and loving atmosphere by patiently and attentively caring for children. Assist parents and Building Blocks by preparing meals for children, maintaining their hygiene, monitoring them for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, providing them with age-appropriate instruction and working with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way. May also assist with sterilizing toys and play areas or perform other duties to ensure children are in a safe, engaging and clean environment.

Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.Successfully pass a KBI background check is required.What you will do
Provide care for children, such as setting schedules and routines, grooming, feeding, toilet training, changing diapers, and cleaning rooms and toys.Develop and encourage age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn.Maintain a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.Develop lesson plans and themes according to the guidelines set out in the Creative Curriculum.Complete all annual training for SVH and required training for KDHE and additional training that support developmentally appropriate practice and best practices.Communicate with parents and other teachers regarding feeding, medications, and other critical concerns.Read to children daily.Help children discover new interests by introducing them to art, music, sports, and other potential hobbies.Actively engage with children at their level.Keep records relating to child care.Work with parents to help children progress towards educational and behavioral goals. Assist teacher two in preparing for teacher / parent conferences.Active participation in center activities such as staff meetings school activity's such as ceremonies, programs and other activities within the community.Help implement special needs program for children and families.Follow all KDHE licensing regulations policies and procedures. To assist with the flux of children’s schedules and to remain in compliance with KDHE regulations with child to staff ratios, team members could be asked to assist in either Building Blocks Center.Travel Requirements
