Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth while maintaining strong client relationships across the restaurant industry. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to identify opportunities, start meaningful conversations, and build trust with operators from the first meeting through ongoing support. The position represents Chow Purchasing in the local market, helping multi-unit restaurant brands gain control of their supply chain and improve profitability.

This position is remotely based with clients in the Dallas to San Antonio markets. Travel expectations is 25-40%. We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role.

Your impact :

  • Research and identify target restaurant groups in assigned markets.
  • Proactively contact restaurant operators through email, phone, social media, and in-person visits.
  • Schedule and lead introductory meetings to explain Chow's services and value proposition.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads using CRM tools.
  • Represent Chow at local industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for accounts brought on board, facilitating onboarding and early-phase support.
  • Conduct periodic client check-ins to ensure long-term retention and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate w / internal teams to document & share client goals, open items and historical context
  • Track & manage client projects, escalations and ongoing tasks through platforms
  • Review daily / weekly reports related to pricing, usage, credits, compliance and distributor performance
  • Address trends or issues surfaced in client data and propose strategic adjustments.
  • Contribute to business reviews and prepare summary reports for clients.
  • Monitor client engagement, responsiveness, and potential pain points.
  • Proactively raise red flags or satisfaction concerns to leadership

About you :

  • Strong project and task management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of restaurant purchasing, pricing dynamics, and product application.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and project management tools such as Monday.com
  • 5+ years of experience in a foodservice-related role (distribution, manufacturer sales, restaurant operations, or territory sales).
  • Experience with multi-unit restaurant concepts is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with pricing audits, manufacturer programs, rebate tracking, or existing restaurant / foodservice networks
