We're seeking a seasoned Clio Developer with deep expertise in customizing and optimizing Clio's document management and billing modules. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building scalable workflows, integrating third-party tools, and translating operational needs into elegant technical solutions.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis. Rate : $60 – $70 / hr, W2.
Responsibilities
Configure and enhance Clio's billing, document management, and matter management modules.Customize fields, layouts, and templates to support firm-specific workflows.Design and implement role-based dashboards, automated reminders, and task sequences.Build and refine workflow automations using Clio's native tools and third-party middleware.Collaborate with operations and legal teams to map out end-to-end processes.Create visual flowcharts, decision trees, and trigger-based actions for clarity and scalability.Develop and maintain integrations using Clio's REST API.Use tools like Zapier, Make (Integromat), or custom scripts to sync data across platforms (e.g., CRM, billing, e-signature, calendaring).Ensure data integrity, error handling, and performance benchmarking across integrations.Maintain clear documentation of workflows, field mappings, and API endpoints.Provide technical support and training to internal stakeholders.Monitor system performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities.Experience Requirements
5+ years of hands-on experience with Clio development and customization.Proven expertise in Clio's billing and document management modules.Strong command of Clio's API, including authentication, endpoints, and rate limits.Experience with Zapier, Make, or similar middleware platforms.Familiarity with legal operations, compliance workflows, and data governance.Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Bonus Skills
